Yon Bureau is a collection of vintage clothing chosen for its character, ease, and individuality. Each piece is sourced with intention and is drawn to what feels good to wear, a little unexpected, and worth collecting.
Yon Bureau is rooted in the belief that what already exists on our planet is often enough. There are countless garments with history, craftsmanship, and life left in them. Our collection embraces this perspective, giving new presence to what might otherwise be overlooked.
The name Yon Bureau, meaning “that dresser over yonder,” reflects the spirit our space: a place of quiet discovery in a sweet little community. It feels like going to your best friends house and being given permission to borrow a sweatshirt that you never intend to return.
Our pieces are rooted in well traveled Americana and unpretentious class. We are inspired by natural fibers, textures, soft structure, and a lived-in quality. We also love a little humor and novelty. Overall, we want you to reach for Yon Bureau pieces often, and keep them for years.
Who is Yon Bureau?
The short answer is, Sara Dean.
Sara began her journey into vintage sales after the death of her stepmother, the queen of quality garments and preserving them. A stray hole or an undone seam never stood a chance; she mended everything, every time. From an early age, Sara learned the value of timelessness and classic style as the foundation of a wardrobe built to last, and to best showcase who you are. What started as an online only endeavor eventually grew into a brick and mortar shop, Yon Bureau, now simply Sara's happy place.
Sara's theory on nostalgia is that everyone needs it eventually. Sometimes it's to remember someone they miss, sometimes to revisit a simpler time, and sometimes just to find the vibe that makes them feel fabulous. All beautiful reasons to shop at Yon Bureau.
By day (and night), Sara is a music agent, a career that has taken her all over the world and introduced her to countless fashionable inspirations along the way. That exposure to shifting landscapes, subcultures, and different ways of living and dressing has shaped a refined, intuitive eye. Her approach is less about trends and more about feeling, what resonates, what lasts, what stands slightly apart, and what reminds you of home.
Now based in Oak Harbor, Washington, on beautiful Whidbey Island, Sara and her husband Christopher continue to source treasures from all over the globe, and everywhere in between.
Who is Neon Kimo?
Neon Kimo is our bestie, business partner and next door neighbor. Kimberlee Leuthee (her actual name) is originally from Southern California and has been selling Vintage Clothing for over a year primarily online. Her additions to the inventory are wild and creative, as her eye for blending genres is unparalleled.
